  • Sorry For The Delay

Hundreds of Food Pouches are on their way (to Amazon).

There appears to be a backlog at Amazon and my products await at their receiving facilities.

Shipping is also proving to be difficult, even impossible to certain areas in Canada…

Not sure what is going on exactly, but if you visited this website for more information, here it is!

Very soon (hopefully) there will be two new products offered by us, Blair’s Backcountry Bowls.

Re-Introducing the Fruits & Seeds recipe AND a brand new product… Dehydrated Vegetables featuring, you guessed it, 100% dried vegetables making it even easier to add more vegetables to our bowls or others.

These are the same delicious and nutritious dried vegetables that are in the Vegetables & Seeds recipe… now entirely on their own so that you can easily pack them in to add more vegetables to your diet!

Thank you for your business and your continued patience!

I hope you are enjoying this wonderful, if not slightly unusual, summer!

    Kind regards,

    Blair

  • Camping Season Is Upon Us

    Hello!

I launched with two recipes, fruits & seeds #1 and vegetables & seeds #1. Both were available in a boxes of 10 and a blended box of 5 and 5. You may have noticed that there is only the vegetables & seeds recipe currently for sale, in a box of 5.

I am excited to announce a return of the the fruits & seeds recipe, now featuring couscous instead of oats alongside other ingredient changes. This recipe will be available in 110 gram (4 oz) and 55 gram (2 oz) size formats.

Expect to see similar adjustments to the Vegetables & Seeds recipe moving forward!

    Happy May Long Weekend!

  • Adding Social Responsibility To Our Core Values

    Howdy!

In an earlier post, I left space for the company to find another way to have a positive impact. Today, I believe I have found an exciting solution to a growing problem. This problem is growing locally and globally. The problem; food scarcity, insecurity and depleting inventory at local food banks.

The Mayor of Toronto, Olivia Chow, declared a food insecurity to be an emergency in December. Article.

Our proposal: for every 10 food pouches sold we donate 1 food pouch to local food banks.

Our products are ideal as a nutritional solution to easily prepare a healthy meal. We can further adapt our recipes to be suitable to a broader base of people as required. With a cup of boiling water and a little patience, our recipes soak up the water, re-hydrating the dried vegetables and cooking the couscous providing for a significant bowl of food that offers a balance of plant-based protein, carbohydrates, and fats.

The local Food Bank in Barrie has received an initial allotment of food pouches, many more than the 10:1 ratio of sales thus far, but charity is a gift for everyone involved. Speaking with the local Food Bank, these meals are ideal for a variety of uses, particularly as emergency food and for the un-housed community. Perfect!

So, it is within this company’s ability to help support Food Banks and we will be further researching opportunities to foster a charitable solution to help with the growing need to support local Food Banks and those in need!

Thank YOU for making it possible to be charitable!

It’s time to test your gear and get ready to enjoy the great outdoors!

    Until next time.

    Kind regards,

    Blair

  • Corporate Update

“The times they are a changin’” – Bob Dylan

Just like Bob, the company is changing. The inception of the company was filled with passion, enthusiasm and a long to-do list of administrative tasks to realize operations. I was eager to create products and test the market all the while setting up a foundation for marketing and customer service. The appearance of the food pouches are being improved. There are limitations to printing on the paper food pouches, which is why we utilize stick-on labels. I started with practical labeling that conveyed important information in French and English. This, I believed, was sufficient for the Minimum Viable Product and we went to market. Now, several months later, we have data and we are aiming to make improvements.

We have been running a sale that significantly reduces the cost to customers. However, advertising efforts have proven difficult to scale meaningfully and as a result, some of our products have been on the shelves for a few months. Slow sales on products that expire is a problem. However, there is plenty of time to make use of them this season. Finding the right balance between supplies and sales is critical as we reduce waste and increase efficiencies. As such, we are only offering the new box of 5 Vegetables & Seeds product for the foreseeable future.

    Stay tuned and stay motivated!

    Sincerely,

    Blair
